Automotive CGI Concept
We explored a "Natural Technicality" concept, placing a high-performance McLaren in a serene, minimalist coastal environment. Our goal was to break away from dark studio lighting and see how the vehicle’s complex surfacing reacted to high-noon solar angles and soft, organic surroundings. By stripping the background to its essentials—sand, sky, and sea—we created a cinematic visual narrative that highlights the McLaren’s fluid design language and technical elegance.
The Technical Execution
This project utilized a unique hybrid pipeline, where the vehicle was meticulously rendered in VRED to ensure every reflection and shadow remained physically accurate. To create the bespoke environment, our team leveraged Vizcom AI, allowing us to synthesize a high-fidelity, minimalist landscape that complements the vehicle’s silver finish. This integration of industrial ray-tracing and generative AI allowed for a faster, more creative environmental design process without compromising the "pixel integrity" of the car itself.
The Creative Challenges
The primary hurdle for ROBUST was "environmental anchoring"—ensuring the VRED-rendered car felt naturally integrated into the AI-generated world. We spent significant time matching the light temperature and shadow hardness from the Vizcom environment back into our VRED lighting rigs. Calibrating the contact shadows where the tires meet the sand was a critical detail, requiring manual post-production to ensure the vehicle felt weighted and "present" in the digital scene rather than just superimposed.
