The Touch UI Design
For the Acura digital flagship project, we engineered a sophisticated touch-ecosystem designed to mirror the brand's "Precision Crafted Performance" philosophy. Our objective was to move beyond static brochures, creating a dynamic interface that allows users to explore the NSX and TLX models with surgical detail. By utilizing a high-contrast, atmospheric visual language, we ensured the digital experience felt as aerodynamic and premium as the vehicles themselves. Every interaction was designed to be visceral and immediate, placing the user in the driver’s seat of a high-velocity, logic-driven digital environment.
The Logic-Driven Workflow
The foundational architecture of this project was built within Sketch, enabling our team to maintain absolute consistency across a massive library of components. We developed a proprietary design system that prioritized rapid navigation, allowing for seamless transitions between vehicle trims, interior options, and engine specs. This systematic approach ensured that the high-resolution 3D CGI automotive assets remained the hero of the experience, supported by a clean, "Zero Noise" UI. By bridging the gap between flat design and interactive showroom hardware, we delivered a robust framework optimized for high-end automotive retail spaces.
The Interaction Hurdles
The primary challenge for ROBUST was the orchestration of real-time data visualization across large-scale, high-traffic touch displays for public exhibitions. We had to ensure that the aesthetic remained functional under varying lighting conditions, requiring meticulous calibration of contrast ratios and typography weights. Balancing the cinematic 3D renders with complex configuration logic meant optimizing every asset to ensure the interface responded with zero input latency. Ultimately, we solved for human-machine friction by creating an intuitive navigation layer that feels as responsive and precise as an Acura performance rack.
